Kirkland Highway Department

We collect leaves in two ways; Bags or Vacuum.

We will vacuum leaf piles if they are along the edge of the road & not in or behind a ditch. Our vacuum is incredibly powerful and will suck the rocks out of ditches. Rocks can instantly cause thousands of dollars and weeks of downtime for our one & only leaf vac.

The piles must be leaves only. We cannot suck up sticks, stones, dirt etc...

The machine generally will not reach past the ditch if the leaves are behind it..... and navigating over & through ditches is not safe for our crews.

Alternatively.... we will pick up bagged leaves if they are in recyclable (paper) bags. These are available locally at Agway, Hannaford etc...

Either way.... No animal feces!!!

If you have a large quantity of leaves and cannot place them along the roadside, please call. Perhaps we can find a place to pile them so they can be vacuumed. 315 853-2134, follow the call-tree to the Highway Superintendents extension (#213)

What do I do with my leaves?........
